Seven Mile Beach

One of the most beautiful stretches of sand in the Caribbean at low tide. Wide, pale, and flat, it creates a reflective surface that doubles the golden hour light and produces photographs with a luminous quality that is hard to find anywhere else. The southern end of the beach is significantly quieter than the northern tourist area. Sessions along Seven Mile Beach work for families, couples, honeymoons, and proposals.

The cliffs

The volcanic cliffside locations south of Seven Mile Beach are the most dramatic photography settings in Negril. The drop to the sea, the open western horizon, and the extraordinary sunset light combine to produce images that are genuinely cinematic. Rockhouse Hotel, Tensing Pen, and the private cliff areas nearby are the most photographed cliff locations. Ideal for couples, proposals, and editorial sessions.

What is the best time of day for photography in Negril?

Golden hour, the final 45 to 60 minutes before sunset. Negril faces west which means the sun descends directly over the water toward you. The light at this time is extraordinary and unlike anywhere else on the island. Sessions typically start between 5pm and 6pm depending on the time of year.

Is the beach or the cliffs better for photography in Negril?

Both are exceptional but for different reasons. Seven Mile Beach is better for families and for sessions where a wide, open, luminous setting is the priority. The cliffs are better for couples, proposals, and editorial photography where drama and verticality are what the image needs. The right choice depends on your group and what you are looking for.
